The end of January is census time for Scouting nationally, and we are pleased and proud to say that the 2016 youth membership of 21st Romsey is up 40% on that of 2015: about 90 children between the ages of 6 and 14 are now part of our Group. In addition there are around 17 Explorers (aged 14 – 17), some of whom are also Young Leaders, helping with the younger sections. However we can only maintain this momentum if we have a solid base of adults, so we are always seeking to add to our team. This does not necessarily mean helping in a particular section, nor wearing a uniform – just as important are those working behind the scenes on finance, maintenance and administration. In return we can promise a great time, and the chance to build on personal skills, like teamwork, confidence and leadership. We can probably use whatever talents and time you have, but our particular priorities at the moment are:
- Group Treasurer – to oversee the finances
- Group Chairperson – to co-ordinate the non-uniformed, administrative, side of the Group
- Assistant section leaders
- Support for the fund-raising team
