The Scout group run a target shooting club for 12 scouts / explorers on the first Wednesday of each month from 7pm-9pm as part of a Your Proficiency programme.
The Wednesday sessions are now being run as a full NSRA YPS Course over 6 sessions. The next programme will start January 2019. Please contact us should you wish to book a space.
We also run a Rifle club once a month on a Saturday for those Scouts/Explorers who have shown a keen interest and willingness to progress in the discipline. Or for non-scouting members wishing to take up target shooting.
Upcoming Saturday Dates are all published on the Saturday Rifle Club Page
- Please contact us in advance to book a lane using the booking form on this link Lanes are booked by the hour and include rifle hire, targets and pellets.
We have many leaders associated with the Rifle Club who are either trained YPS NSRA tutors, Club Instructors, Club Coaches and County Coach who look after the shooting club. Tony Moles (ADC Romsey), Pam Chalk (Asst Cub Leader-21st Romsey), Tina Elliott (Scout Leader 21st Romsey), Stephen Batchelor (Asst Scout Leader-21st Romsey), Mat Lee (3rd Romsey), Trevor Draper (Shackleton ESU), Andrew Pudney (Draco Explorers), Josh Gooding (Romsey District Explorers), Lorna Knights & Craig Knights (Portsmouth Scout Shooting Club)
The shooting is target shooting and we are fortunate to have our own equipment and access to loan equipment, we are able to setup both 6yd and 10m ranges in the Scout HQ.
We are currently the District Trainers and are able to offer target shooting for Romsey District Scout Groups or Explorer Units either at our HQ or we may be able to do this at your HQ. As many of the leaders are also Instructors/Coaches of the National Scout Rifle Squad and Hampshire Scout Rifle Club we are also able to arrange shooting activities across Hampshire via the network of available instructors.
Any Questions regarding the club or to enquire about running a target shooting session for your group please contact us by using the contact us page quoting the section as rifle club.
